For some reason, leftists liberals like to imagine all sorts of pie-in-the-sky things. this is the latest laugh from “the Happy Planet Index”, as it lists Cuba as number 7 for happiest places to live, according to Fausta’s Blog. According to the HPI, freedom isn’t necessarily an indicator of happiness, since Cuba is #177 on their “Freedom Index.”

I live in South Florida and there have been Cubans risking their lives to come here for years. They have to travel by boat, and other makeshift vessels, approximately 90 miles. If they’re lucky, they will survive the shark infested waters and tropical sun.I remember one famous boy, Elian Gonzalez, who made the trip with his mother. Apparently, there was a storm and the boat was destroyed, along with his mother. The story goes that a dolphin befriended him and brought him to shore. Janet Reno’s DOJ had to remove him at gunpoint in the middle of the night from his Cuban relatives to return him to his father.

Of course, there is a propaganda machine and many leftist legislators fall into the illusion of the “big happy socialist place”, but most Cubans who have emigrated here will tell you that they had to leave their wealth and comfort behind, but it was worth it.
