Concerned Citizen: SM Shirk

This particular gentleman, SMShirk, from Atlanta, Georgia started writing to his representatives and other legislators about upcoming legislation that he was interested in, annd had questions about. He also participated in the Atlanta Tea Party. As a result of his endeavors in citizenship, The Joint Terrorism Task Force of the FBI visited him yesterday, May 26th apparently; Senator Sheldon Whitehouse had reported him to the FBI as a possible terrorist.

“November 7, 2006, Rhode Islanders elected Whitehouse to the Senate, where he is a member of the Special Committee on Aging and the Budget Committee, the Environment and Public Works Committee, the Judiciary Committee, and the Select Committee on Intelligence,” according to Whitehouse’s government website. It seems just a tad heavy handed for him to respond to suggestions presented on various pieces of legislation that Mr. Shirk respectfully submitted through the Senator’s website by sending out the FBI.

However, Mr. Shirk reported that the FBI was pretty respectful and told him to keep being an active citizen. Possibly all this will backfire on the Senator’s reputation for calling Wolf too much.
