Mexican Swine Flu Government Mismanagement
According to Butasforme, a bio-surveillance firm, called Veratect notified the CDC and WHO a full two weeks before the Obama visit. “E-mails calling attention to the company’s subsequent report that the disease was possibly spreading in Mexico were sent to 10 federal-level officials, said Robert Hart, the company’s chief executive.” Veratect is also active on Twitter and Twitter founder, Evan Williams, was one of the entrepreneurs that Obama invited to the White House about a month ago. So, is someone not paying attention? So much for the Obama’s so-called benefits of big government in managing health crises…
Now, according to Politico a staffer to Energy Secretary Stephen Chu has symptoms of the Mexican Swine flu. Secretary Chu travelled with Obama to Mexico. Additionally, members of the staffer’s family have been infected. The staffer has not been identified. However, I might venture a speculation that he/she was Hispanic to aid with security and translation? So far, it seems that the virus, which some say was a laboratory “designer” virus affects Hispanics differently from other races. The fatalities have been Mexicans, even the one toddler in Texas who was here, illegally, seeking health care.
Another disturbing mis-management is Homeland Security Department’s directive that Border Patrol agents may not wear protective masks. This is, however, being disputed as having come from DHS. Additionally, Secretary Napolitano has not closed the Mexican-US border because of political reasons. So, we have to ask, if Obama wants this Universal Health Care and for the government to manage it, why aren’t they showing us how well they could do it? They seem to be doing a pretty lousy job of it right now.
