Earth Hour & Other Liberal Distraction Tactics
According to Americas Right Saturday night, 3/28 was set for Earth Hour, and the lights were shut off for one hour between 8:30 and 9:30 PM. Initially a U.N. spokeswoman Vannina Maestracci stated that would save $81,000, but finally admitted it would only save $102.
Well, the next few weeks are going to be extremely difficult, as the UN is proposing major changes along the lines of the Copenhagen Accord, a follow-up to the Kyoto Protocol, which Mr. Obama seems to favor signing. According to Hot Air, “If Obama cooperates with this, we will have willingly traded American sovereignty for rule by thieves and knaves. Republicans need to win some seats back in the Senate to ensure this treaty never gets ratified.” It would essentially put national economies in the hands of the UN which would control tariffs and cap and trade taxes on carbon emission products; and “industrial relocation”.
This is only one example of the gross over-statements and mis-characterizations that characterize the Global Warming “cult”. I have friends who have changed their normal electric light bulbs for the fluorescent light bulbs, which, however, contain Mercury, which, of course, will leak into a landfill.
Then there is the prediction of sea levels rising and polar bears stranded. What we are experiencing is a return to the Ice Age. What will happen to the Amazon when it is unable to sustain the rain forest after it is stripped for ethanol producing crop?
Also, according to Pravda, China and Russia are teaming up to push for a new global currency with Special Drawing Rights. Remember China holds the purse strings for the US.
Monday, Obama will be announcing deployment of 4,000 more troops to Afghanistan, and according to David R. Hoffman, Pravda,”Although the United States has fought some wars where its liberty interests were at risk, in recent times this “defense of freedom” mantra has become little more than a subterfuge to conceal the fact that America’s military is increasingly being deployed so that multinational corporations can plunder the human and natural resources of weaker nations, and/or to divert the electorate’s attention away from the economic or political corruption engaged in by the plutocrats who truly control the country and its government.”
