Is Healthcare Reform Necessary?

Maggies Farm has analyzed the claims by the administration on several of its assumptions and found that there are some gross overstatements in their plan to implement Obamacare.
Last week Obama said.”The cost of health care now causes a bankruptcy in America every thirty seconds.” This is simply untrue, according to ABC news reporter Gary Langer. Langer says that, first of all, the data supporting that claim lacks scientific validity, and secondly, the data is out-of-date.
There are also claims that there are large numbers of uninsured, often claiming about 16% of the population. However, that estimate is also overstated and is more like 8%. The author of the blog pointed out that due to competition from illegal aliens, low skilled workers are left at a disadvantage when bargaining for insurance coverage. Also, because of SCHIP, individuals who previously paid for their own insurance are dropping their coverage so they can get the government insurance. This is similar to what happened in Hawaii, when Hawaii provided Universal Health Care and everyone dropped their premiums. Hawaii then had to suspend their Universal Health Care last summer, after only a few months..
Another point is that supposedly Obama Care will be “detailed” by Congress. And we know how good they are at that, don’t we? Tort reform is not included in Obamacare. Wonder why? Tort lawyers are major contributors to the Democrats.
Even Kent Conrad, Democratic Chairman of the budget committee, according to Gateway Pundit, “called the track of future deficits “unsustainable” and singled out Obama’s proposal for spending $634 billion on health care over the next 10 years.” Senator Judd Gregg predicted that the US is on its way to bankruptcy, and, might I remind the reader that Peter R. Orszag, White House Budget Director, was the consultant for the Central Bank Iceland, which is now bankrupt, according to Bollyn.info. He is also a graduate of the London School of Economics, which was founded by the Fabian Society of Socialists. Another famous graduate of the London School of Economics and, most probably the “tour de force” behind the Obama administration is George Soros.
In fact, today, according to MSNBC Senator Judd Gregg politely told Geithner that the administration’s budget forecast was (in polite terms, a lie) “spurious.” “The argument that this budget doesn’t have tax increases [on everyone] is, I think, an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ view of the budget,” he said. When Obama nominated Gregg for Commerce Secretary, Obama said “Gregg is known for his fiscal discipline.”
