Crooks Redistribute The Wealth Too

Recently, the name of Liliane Betancourt, came up as one of the people scammed by the Ponzi scheme developed by Bernie Madoff, according to India Times/Economics. She is one of the wealthiest women in the world as heiress to the L’Oreal fortune. Quite a few others were caught up in this scam, which the SEC totally overlooked, as Madoff had been one of the founders of NASDAQ.

But why is everyone so shocked? Barack Obama has just been named Person of the Year and it is his intention to “redistribute the wealth.” Isn’t a Ponzi scheme the same thing? Why does the Press give so much coverage to the wealthy being scammed, when they know full well that whatever these people lost, for the most part, will not devastate them in the least. We know there are a few exceptions. The suicide of Access co-founder Thierry Magon de La Villehuchet is being blamed on his losses in the scheme.

But is the smiling grandfatherly face of Bernie Madoff any different from the smile of Barack Obama? At least Barry is telling people exactly what he intends to do. The problem with socialism, of course, is that the people on the bottom who get some kind of stipend usually have to forfeit quite a bit of their civil liberties.

Now, as most of us know, the people who elected Obama were not the most educated people in the world, by and large. They hardly knew who they were voting for. They were, as was documented, expertly hypnotized and used by slick rhetoric. But the famous example of Peggy Joseph, who said “I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage, filling up my gas tank”, is far from being unique.

There are many in this generation who have been prepared for decades to simply ask for the government to find the solution. They haven’t bothered to study the attempts to introduce socialism in other countries and the consequences. If they had studied a bit, they might be more reluctant to look for a free “handout.”

If they had even referred to the Bible, they would have known that the Lord doesn’t even condone socialism. Look at the Parable of the Talents. The Lord gave talents to three men. When he returned, years later, and found that one of the men had not developed his talents, but had buried them, the Lord gave those talents to the one who had multiplied his talents.

So, let’s be very careful about welcoming socialism.
