Justice Clarence Thomas: “My Grandfather’s Son”

have a little information about Justice Clarence Thomas, his difficult childhood and even some of the negative press around his early appointment about 17 years ago, as a Supreme Court Justice.
However, due to the fact that Justice Thomas has now distributed a very high profile case, Donofrio v Wells to the other 8 Justices for a conference on Dec. 5th, I decided to listen to a recent speech he made which was recorded by C-SPAN and found out that he is a very strong person with a clear idea about keeping the “intent of the Framers” of the Constitution. You will find him starting at about 1:22 minutes into that video, if you click the link.
He quoted President John F. Kennedy “ask not what your country can do, but what you can do for your country” and I got a very strong impression that he might not be entirely favorable with changing our way of government into a Nanny State.
Now, of course that case would be clarifying the intent of the Framers as to what is the meaning of “natural born citizen”.
Mr. Leo C. Donofrio initially filed his suit trough all the lower courts in New Jersey before the election, before docketing the case with the Supreme Court. The suit alleges that three presidential candidates were not natural born citizens, as defined by the Framers of the Constitution. The Supreme court will conference the suit on December 5th which is 10 days before the Electoral College meets.
