Astrology and Nation Changing
I had an interesting conversation today about the state of discontent in the U.S. right ow and how many Americans are alarmed at the possibility that there may be imposition of a Socialist agenda on our nation.
I have friends who are western astrologers who have pointed out that the planet Pluto will now be transiting into Capricorn where it will be for approximately 16 years. Pluto has an elliptical orbit of approximately 245 years. Now the last time Pluto was in Capricorn was during the American Revolutionary War and it is projected, therefore, that Pluto is a planet of transformation. BTW, Pluto is not considered one of the ancient vedic planets. Perhaps this “transformation” is what Obamabi meant with his call to “Change and Hope”.
Now, personally, I am a vedic astrologer, and we take into account something called the “Precession of the Equinoxes”, which means that the axis of the earth is actually “wobbling”, or rotating counterclockwise. This movement lasts 25,800 yrs. So the difference between the two systems is that sidereal is more or less 23 degrees less than Western. Obviously it will change according to what year you may be looking at. This number is called an Ayanamsa..
Now, from a totally different perspective, a vedic one, we can look at the natal chart of the United Kingdom, which was actualized at 12:01 AM in Westminister on December 25, 1066 with the coronation of William the First.
Now, if you look at that chart, you will see that the natal Moon is 29 degrees Pisces.
What does that mean? Well, in the 1770’s Saturn, one of the “vedic” planets was transiting directly opposite England’s natal Moon. In other words it was in Virgo. Saturn’s transit in one sign lasts approximately 2 1/2 years. When Saturn “transited” opposite the U.K.’s natal Moon, one’s partners, i.e., colonies separated.
Since the Planet Pluto wasn’t discovered until 1930, it is possible that the revisionist history of Pluto’s “transformative” abilities remains to be seen. The ancient sages were the ones who spoke about the characteristics of the nine Vedic planets in the Brihat Parasara Muni. The outer planets, like Uranus, Pluto and Neptune have only ben discovered recently an, therefore, their effects on the human soul, psyche and nations would be a matter of speculation.
